Community Treatment Aide

The Community Treatment Aide Program is a service provided to individuals/families at the request of a child's therapist. Services are provided to assist individuals to reach stated goals that have been developed by the client and the client's therapist. Identified goals may include:
-
Educating the client on effective parenting techniques
-
Enforcing effective discipline strategies
-
Teaching effective behavioral modification systems
-
Providing the family with information on child development and proper care of children
-
Assisting the family with maintaining a safe and healthy living environment
-
Encouraging a substance-free lifestyle
-
Working toward the goal of reunification if a child has been placed out of the home
-
Teach anger and aggression management skills
-
Assisting family members to be self-sufficient (seek and maintain employment, payment of bills, accessing community resources)
-
Developing a positive support system
-
Decrease depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues
-
Educating client and family on mental health diagnoses
-
Providing routine and structure in the home and school
Community Treatment Services generally take place in the client's home. However, the therapist may request that services take place at an alternative setting. The number of hours working with a family per week may vary. The therapist will give general instructions on his/her expectations of services. The length of stay also varies from case to case. The CTA will encourage and empower his/her clients to meet their stated goals. However, the ultimate responsibility of achieving goals will be up to the individual/families.
Persons served will be individuals/families in the Grand Island area or surrounding communities (30-mile radius). All cases will be accepted unless there is a reason for safety concerns. A client may be put on a waiting list, depending on availability.
